When your heart is aching with sadness it’s okay to be joyful during the holidays. Here are a couple tips for getting through the holidays when you are grieving or alone.

  • Plan ahead.  Take some time to help yourself.  Think of how to help with your stress, anxiety or fatigue and schedule some time for a nap or time to relax.  Figure out what is going to help get you through the holidays and make that a priority.
  • Have support.  Whether it be a friend or a support group, you need people.  If you are feeling overwhelmed and there is someone you know that can lend an ear, give them a call.  Learning how to ask for help is important.
