Celebrating Our Volunteers

Hospice of Douglas County held its annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner on May 12th at the Broadway Ballroom. Volunteers and staff gathered together for an evening of gratitude, reflection, and recognition for the compassionate work done throughout the year.

Speakers included Joyce Iverson, Hospice Supervisor, and Ann Stehn, Horizon Public Health Administrator. Spiritual Counselor Kathy Hodges led the evening prayer.

Volunteers also shared heartfelt stories about why they give their time to Hospice. Tom Savageau spoke about serving as a Veteran-to-Veteran volunteer, while Diane Zeithamer shared about the gown project, golf tournament, and what inspires her to volunteer.

Music for the evening was provided by Trisha Garvin, music therapist.

Thank you to all Hospice volunteers and staff for the care, comfort, and support you provide to families in our community.
